Video Shows Car on Fire in River Ranch Area of Lafayette
The Lafayette Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at the corner of Silverstone and Camellia Boulevard in the River Ranch area earlier this afternoon. Local listeners reported the incident earlier today, which was confirmed by video and photos shared on social media.
Footage shared by X (formerly known as Twitter) user @KBKellner shows the car engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing from the vehicle. The video, captured shortly after noon on Wednesday, June 12, also shows a firetruck arriving at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and there are no confirmed reports of injuries. Eyewitnesses say the car is still there, but there is a minimal impact on Camellia traffic. Those traveling Silverstone may have more issues before things are cleared as the road is currently blocked while authorities tend to the incident.
We await further details from the Lafayette Fire Department and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
