Both suspects in an armed robbery at a Dollar General store in Rayne, Louisiana, are now in custody, according to law enforcement officials.

The Rayne Police Department confirmed that Dearreo Rayshawn Jones, 28, was arrested late Monday night. Records show that Jones was taken into custody by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office at 11:29 p.m. He is currently being held in the Lafayette Parish Jail.

According to KLFY News 10, Jones and another man, Rayvon Robert Gore-Willis, 30, of Lafayette, are accused of robbing the Dollar General on Louisiana Avenue at gunpoint on Thursday, Nov. 14, around 9:30 p.m. Authorities said the suspects were masked and armed with at least one handgun during the robbery, which netted just $28.

Gore-Willis was apprehended last Friday after police conducted a traffic stop of a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe believed to have been used in the crime. He was charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm enhancement and remains in custody.

Jones faces the same charge of armed robbery with a firearm enhancement.

Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly thanked law enforcement for their quick actions and encouraged residents to continue sharing tips to assist investigations. Further details regarding the suspects' court appearances and bond amounts have not yet been released.
