The 12th Annual Scott Boudin Festival is April 4th—6th, and the organizers have announced major upgrades to their security measures.

The Scott Boudin Festival says they are enhancing their security measures to ensure the safety of everyone who attends the festival, which has reportedly been in the planning since last year's festival.

This isn't the first upgrade in security measures at public events; many venues, stadiums, and other public gatherings have increased their security measures through the years.

On their official website, the Scott Boudin Festival announced these new security measures for the 2025 Booudin Festival:

Metal Detectors

All guests are subject to passing through metal detectors at festival entry points and additional screening if needed. Please allow extra time for security screening.

Clear Bag Policy

To streamline security checks, only clear bags will be permitted inside the festival grounds. Diaper bags will be allowed, however, all bags are subject to search prior to entry onto the festival grounds to ensure compliance with festival rules and regulations.

Chaperone Policy

Children under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 21 years or older to enter the festival grounds. ID verification of the child or guardian may be required at entry. At no time may children under the age of 16 be left on festival grounds without a parent or guardian.

Enhanced Video Surveillance

Additional security cameras have been installed throughout the festival grounds to enhance safety and assist with monitoring.

In addition to these additional safety measures, the festival grounds will close earlier this year.

Here are the new times for the 2025 Booudin Festival:

Friday 5 pm to 11:30 pm
Saturday 9 am to 11:30 pm
Sunday 8 am to 6:30 pm

We hope that those who attend this wonderful festival in south Louisiana have a great time, and while there, if you see something, say something.

We'll see you at the Boudin Festival, and let's get ready to dance and eat a lot of boudin in Scott, Louisiana.
