All Telluride models manufactured between 2020 and 2023, and some 2024 models.

According to the NHTSA the issue revolves around "the connection between metal shafts linking the engine and transmission to the wheels." Over time this damage causes the vehicle to move unexpectedly when in park unless the emergency break is in use. The NHTSA is warning owners of these vehicles to listen for a grinding noise.

If someone owns an affected Telluride owners are urged to bring their vehicles to Kia dealerships. Kia ensures that the electronic parking brake software will be updated at no cost to the customer. The company has promised owners that they will be reimbursed for any necessary repairs related to the recall.

This recall adds to the ongoing issues Kia has been dealing with this year. They made an announcement charging units in tens of thousands of vehicles were defective. Customers who suspect their vehicle may be affected by the Telluride recall are encouraged to contact Kia's Customer Care Center or visit a Kia dealer for further assistance.

Kia is doing everything they can to rectify the situation for their customers. The safety of consumers remains a top priority for Kia, and the company is committed to swiftly addressing any potential issues to ensure the continued satisfaction and safety of its customers.
