Louisiana’s Famous Dog Scrim Has Finally Been Captured
UPDATE
At last, after months of Scrim sighting and attempts to bring him home safely, Scrim has been captured.
Scrim survived a record-breaking snowstorm a few weeks ago and an epic Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans. He must have finally had enough of living life as a very famous bandit.
Zeus' Rescue has been tirelessly trying to bring Scrim to safety after he escaped through a second-story window.
News broke early Tuesday that Scrim was safe and more details would be released once the rescue team had a second to recover.
"WE GOT HIM!!! Much love to Trap DAT Cat!!! More details to come when I can breathe!!!"
If only Scrim could talk, the sights he has probably seen.
We are overjoyed to see Scrim alive and well again. As soon as more details regarding how they finally captured Scrim are released, we will update this post.
Original Story
The South Louisiana community has been fully invested in the return of Scrim, a New Orleans dog who went missing in April after being adopted from Zeus' Rescues.
People all over the state of Louisiana have been keeping up with 'Scrim-sightings' and posting pictures and locations where he had been spotted. 4WWL reported that search crews were searching nightly with net guns, and local veterinarians were equipped with tranquilizer darts.
After 6 months, a disheveled and wounded Scrim was found alive by some miracle on Wednesday, October 23rd.
He appeared to be fine for the most part, but he was completely matted, missing part of his ear, had two pellet gun bullets lodged in him, and was missing a few teeth.
Unfortunately, this would be a brief reunion.
Scrim Receives Proclamation From New Orleans City Council Days Before Second Escape
On November 8th, Scrim and his recovery team were honored with a proclamation from the New Orleans City Council "recognizing Scrim’s incredible rescue journey and the collective effort that brought our city together with the single goal of getting him safe.
The proclamation will be displayed proudly alongside his portrait at the front entrance of the rescue building. In addition, a special gift bag filled with treats, toys, and even a Christmas collar was presented to him!"
Scim, being the escape artist, decided that the best way to celebrate his return was by busting through the second-story window of his home and running away again.
