Louisiana Officially Declares Cupid the ‘Line Dance King of the World’

Louisiana's heart and soul is music that makes you want to move, and one artist that we are proud to claim is Bryson Bernard, but you know him as Cupid.

You can't attend a wedding, birthday party, or crawfish boil, at least not one we would want to attend, without hearing the 'Cupid Shuffle'. While he is known for his line dances, if you are lucky enough to see him live, you will get to hear him showcase his gospel roots.

He hasn't stopped releasing catchy line dance songs since the 'Cupid Shuffle', in fact, with the help of social media, songs like 'Flex' and 'Cookout' have continued to go viral online.

It makes our Louisiana heart proud to see that Cupid got his flowers from the state of Louisiana on Thursday.

Cupid received a special state proclamation at the Louisiana State Capitol recognizing his iconic contributions to the world of line dance music.

Now he is officially in the record books, acknowledging his unmatched contributions to the genre across the world.

Cupid continues to release line dance anthems that will carry on his iconic legacy and keep people moving for generations.

The proclamation was made possible by State Representative Tehmi Chassion of District 44, who proudly submitted the recognition to honor Cupid’s legacy not just in Louisiana, but around the world.

The State of Louisiana Has Declared Cupid "The Linedance King” of the World for his achievements in Linedance Music. This State Proclamation was delivered on May 8, 2025. Cupids accomplishments,sales, music certifications and successful hit songs has proven him as the leader in Linedance music and is now on record in the the Louisiana State Capitol record books. Linedance has made leaps and bounds because of Cupids work and is being recognized. Thank you State Representative
