Southside High Janitor Arrested With Meth and Marijuana on Campus

LAFAYETTE, La. - A Southside High School employee is out of a job and facing criminal charges after Youngsville police say drugs were found on the school campus.

According to Youngsville police, the employee worked as a janitor at Southside High School and was arrested after police allegedly discovered methamphetamine and marijuana on school property.

Southside High School Employee Arrested

Youngsville police investigated the situation involving the Southside High School employee before making an arrest. Authorities say the investigation resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and marijuana connected to the employee.

The employee was taken into custody and faces drug-related charges.

Noah Brower, 35, is facing a charge of drug possession with intent to distribute. He has since been released from the Lafayette Parish Jail after posting bond.

Authorities reported Brower had brought both methamphetamine and marijuana onto the school campus.

Janitor Fired From Southside High School

The Lafayette Parish School System confirmed with Acadiana News First that Brower was no longer employed by the district following the arrest.

Youngsville Police Chief J.P. Broussard says the arrest came as a result of a tip that was given after someone discovered narcotics on campus. Police say they were able to trace it back to Brower, ultimately leading to his arrest.

It is not known if the person who discovered the drugs was a student or and employee at Southside.

Southside High School is located in Youngsville and serves students from across the Southern Lafayette Parish area.
