Louisiana OMV Locations to Close Monday

(Lafayette, Louisiana) - We have some important information to pass on here: the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles and all OMV customer service centers will be closed on Monday, September 14, 2026.

So, if you need to conduct business with the OMV early next week, you will not be able to renew your license or handle other important matters on that date.

According to the OMV, the offices across Louisiana will be closed for system modernization efforts and staff training.

As for independent offices that are contracted to do business with the OMV (Public Tag Agents and Auto Title Companies), they will be unable to perform driver’s license, reinstatement, vehicle registration, and title transactions from Saturday, September 12, 2026, through Monday, September 14, 2026.

This is important to know if you need to get something up to date by the weekend or early next week. If you need to address a driver’s license, reinstatement, vehicle registration, and/or title transactions, you should conduct your business before Saturday, September 12.

In addition to the office closing, some digital features will be "under construction" as well.

The OMV reports that their website, Expresslane.la.gov, and LA Wallet will be temporarily unavailable from Saturday, September 12, 2026, through Sunday, September 13, 2026. This is again due to upgrades being made to the statewide system.
