(New Orleans, Louisiana) - Drew Brees is going into the NFL Hall of Fame this weekend, and he will be right where he belongs, alongside the greats who have played professional football.
Brees arrived in New Orleans at the right time, when the city and state needed an inspiration after Hurricane Katrina.
While his play on the field was exceptional in New Orleans, what he did off the field was even more profound.
Brees not only led the New Orleans Saints to the organization's first-ever Super Bowl, but he also set NFL records across the board. Yes, at times, he truly made it look easy.
Brees threw for 80,358 career yards, the second most in NFL history, and threw 571 passing touchdowns, only second behind Tom Brady.
The 13-time Pro Bowler ranks as one of the best to ever play behind center in the NFL, and when he is enshrined in Canton, Ohio, Drew will forever live on amongst the greats.
Look, most know that I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, but how can anyone deny the greatness of Drew Brees? As good as he was on the field, he was even better off the field, and that's why all sports fans should tip their hat to Drew.
It truly is hard to believe that Brees is done with football, and has been for a while, but looking back on his career really does make you realize how great he was and still is.
