(KTDY) - A familiar face in Acadiana is on the move as WBRZ announced that Dave Baker has joined their weather team.

For years, Acadiana woke up to Dave Baker on KATC TV-3, but when changes came, Dave moved on to start his own forecasting on his YouTube channel. Now, our friend is back on the move and on television again.

The veteran broadcaster is now part of the Channel 2 WBRZ weather team, and he debuted on air in Baton Rouge on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Baker, who has always been a staple in our community, has a lifelong passion for forecasting weather and broadcasting. Dave studied meteorology at Western Illinois University, but in 1995, our friend earned the American Meteorological Society’s Broadcast Seal of Approval.

Dave tells me he will be doing fill-in work on WBRZ ,mostly in mornings and weekends, which should require being on-air 3-4 times a week.

To the Baton Rouge community, you now have a great meteorologist serving your community, and as great a forecaster he is, Dave is an even better person.

We know that Dave will do great things at WBRZ, and we congratulate our friend on this latest accomplishment.
